Sharing God's Light
Teenage Abortion“Dear Diary: I never meant for this to happen. One day I’m alive and feeling good about my life, the next day I am thrown into dark despair. My whole life is changed forever. I can’t imagine the reaction I will get from my parents, my friends, my school! Already I am rehearsing how I’ll break the news. “Mom, please don’t hate me … I’m pregnant! I know I have to decide what to do, but who can I speak to? Who can I turn to? Who could understand what I’m going through? I can’t raise a child. I’m not ready to be a mother. But even God will turn from me if I make the wrong choice. I feel so confused; so alone.”
Everyday in America a teenage woman is faced with this scenario. The outcome of her decision becomes a shared burden with our society as a whole. The fait of this unborn child of God and this frightened expectant mother is at stake.
Please share your thoughts by posting a comment. We’d especially like to hear from teenagers – male and female. We also welcome the insight of parents of teenagers as well as the many men and women who have lived through such a crisis and can share their wisdom.
